How did you get into the sport?
When I was little I wanted to play football, walk and join the army just like anyone else. The only person who didn’t realise I couldn’t was myself. Then, when I was in Year 4, I heard the medal-winning wheelchair basketball player, Ade Adepitan speak about his difficulties and successes. I realised that instead of focussing on something you can’t achieve, focus on something you can. I decided to find out more about the sport and went to a wheelchair skills afternoon where I met Anna Jackson. She invited me down to the local club to have a go.
What are your ambitions in Wheelchair Basketball?
I want to continue to develop my skills, enhance my experiences and maintain the friendships I have gained over the years of playing.
