What is your role at the club?
Why do you like wheelchair basketball? And why did you start playing the sport?
I like wheelchair basketball because it’s such a fun and exciting experience, you never know how a training session or game will go. I started playing because I was never involved in sports growing up I was excluded because of my disability so when I heard about basketball I just had to give it a go!
Why did you decide to join Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair basketball club/ Angels?
I joined angels through starting as part of Cheshire Phoenix, I first went to watch and I was just itching to get in court with angels I was hooked from watching how the teams gelled together and how inviting they were. It just looked exciting and including.
Do you have a favourite wheelchair basketball player? If so, who and why?
I love watching Brian Bell from USA play he just glides up court with so much speed in such an effortless way and his ability to catch and release the ball with such speed and accuracy is mesmerising.
Do you have a future goal for the sport such as going Elite, becoming a coach etc...?
My goal is to make it to a Paralympics. After my playing career I plan on staying in the wheelchair basketball setting and go into sport psychology.
What hobbies do you have?
I enjoy attending college and educating myself on the deeper parts of sport and looking into and learning about other aspects of different sports. I have also started to enjoy baking and cooking for my family.
Do you go to college or university and if so, what do you or did you study?
I attend college and I study level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport - year 2
Do you have any cool qualifications in anything?
I have level 1 and level 2 in health and social care.
