Do you train with another team?

Lancaster Bulldogs

What is your role at the club?

Senior Player, Coach and Committee Member

Why do you like wheelchair basketball? And why did you start playing the sport?

I fell into the sport around 1997 and was hooked. I love the freedom It gives me and allows me to to feel normal as well as meeting some of my lifelong friends.

I have travelled the country and the world with GB. I am a European bronze medallist (2007), won silver in 2005 at the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester and was part of the Paralympic team in 2008, in Beijing.

Why did you decide to join Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair basketball club/ Angels?

Angels women's league team has moved under the umbrella of Phoenix, so I have slotted in.

Do you have a favourite wheelchair basketball player? If so, who and why?

Patrick Anderson as he is God. He is selfless as a player, gets the best from his team mates, by encouraging them and trusting in them. His skills are amazing and he is a cool human being.

Jitske Visser from the Dutch women team is an absolute work horse and I love her work ethic on court. I have watched her grow from a junior to a solid member of the Dutch national team.

Also a mention for the 'awesomest' 1ptr in the world Abdi Jama (GB) a legend..... I could happily go on and on.

Do you have a future goal for the sport such as going Elite, becoming a coach etc...?

I have been lucky enough to have played from the bottom to the top of the game (development to elite) and have coached both under 15 and 19s Northwest to medal.... What's next..? Watch this space.
