Why do you like wheelchair basketball? And why did you start playing the sport?
Wheelchair basketball is everything you could want in a sport; fast, dynamic, technically and tactically demanding. I started playing when I was 24 because I wanted to get fit. Then 1 year later I was representing GB on the international stage so safe to say I loved it.
Why did you decide to join Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair basketball club/ Angels?
The Angels were my 1st club, my first wheelchair basketball family and I truly believe I wouldn't have the career I have if it wasn't for the support of this club.
Do you have a favourite wheelchair basketball player? If so, who and why?
My favourite player is Janet McLoughlin. When Janet was playing she was strong, confident and could rip a rebound from anyone, that is what I wanted to be.
Now she is retired, she continues to inspire me as she is the Head Coach of one of the biggest Wheelchair Basketball Clubs in Europe - Lahn-Dil.
Do you have a future goal for the sport such as going Elite, becoming a coach etc...?
Currently I coach The Angels 2nd team and I would love to continue working with them but overall I would love to inspire more women to play the game and one day coach a professional women's team.
What hobbies do you have?
Training full-time it is hard to fit in hobbies as I do see basketball as my hobby. Although I guess I love cooking and DIY when I have time and since lockdown I have taken up golf.
Do you have any cool qualifications in anything?
I used to be a life guard and I have a baby yoga qualification...
Tell me one fact about yourself
I have 4 sisters, so I truly believe I was made for basketball

This is for the committee/ volunteers...
What makes you want to help the club out? And what do you enjoy most about being at the club?
The Angels have given me a lot of opportunities on and of court, This has motivated me to help empower women to get involved with this great sport. I love the family atmosphere; we support each other on and off court to have fun and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones.
Are you part of another sport or volunteer anywhere else?
What is your goal for your role and Cheshire Phoenix/Angels?
I would like to help grow the club to have as many women involved in the sport possible. As a coach my goal is help players build confidence in their skills and support them to understand their strengths and how we can develop them.
